Day 2 of our Three Half Term Multi Sports Courses

A fantastic day 2 at our three Multi Sports courses running this week; the coaches give us an insight into all that went on at each course:

Hardenhuish: Another sunny start to the second morning of our Multi Sports course at Hardenhuish School.  We started by getting to know each other playing Unihoc and Ninja Fit.  We split into 3 teams with some interesting team names, JSE, Cute Kittens and Ghostly Pumpkins. There was some spectacular goal keeping from Ralfy who won himself a prize for his courage and determination. Sinead then lead some fun and competitive Ninja games, getting ready for Ninja fit with pads tomorrow.

Tennis was back by popular demand this afternoon. The children were developing their hitting and catching skills playing Ghost Tennis. Some fantastic tennis skills displayed by Joseph. Our final game of the day was Sink the Ship, this tested our throwing accuracy and defensive skills. Teams really showed their resilience within this game to try and knock the balls off even when the other teams were brilliant at defending. Our Superstar award was given to Joseph for showing determination in every activity we did today as well as leading others in his team whilst playing Unihoc.   We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for a some spooky Halloween games.  Rachel & Barry

Combe Down: What a day we had today! We were met with sleet at 9am and it looked as though we were destined to be indoors all day; but the clouds cleared and allowed us to pack our day full of exciting activities both inside and out! We started with Benchball followed by Capture the Flag and Gymnastics all before lunch. As the day wore on a battle between the Pumpkins and Updating dot dot dot was developing! Into the afternoon and after some team work games and hop hoop we finished with another round of Gaga Ball and in a tight battle, Updating dot dot dot were victorious in the team of the day award! Contribution of the day went to Evelyn and Florence for excellent performances in the team games, whilst Isobel won the Leadership award for her expert stewardship of the pumpkins who had a very young team, leading them to a second place finish. She showed wonderful compassion and set a fantastic example for her team. The Superstar award went to one of our 10 year old participants for an outstanding all round display! Tomorrow is our Halloween themed day with lots of prizes to be won, come and join us! Robin & Charlotte

Saltford:  A very chilly start at Saltford meant this morning we thought we’d stay inside and start with some multi skills games! Dodgeball was the game of choice, so we started with a version called Doctor Dodgeball. After a quick snack we stayed in the hall and played a game called Scatter-Ball which involves throwing smaller balls at a large ball and getting it across the other teams line. During lunch we decided we would start the afternoon with some Tag Rugby, we split the group into two teams and played a Tag Rugby version of Jailbreak. Some excellent teamwork and great determination meant both games were very close between the teams.  As the afternoon drew to an end, we finished with a Basketball game called Poison.  Ella won our Leadership award, Ewan – Player of the Day and Reggie was awarded Contribution of the Day.  An amazing day despite the cold weather, we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for Halloween fun.  Erin, Dave & Ollie
