Netheravon Half Term Multi Sports, Day 1
Our morning started well with introductions and team selection; the Screaming Purple Watermelons worked well as a team and were extremely quick to make their team name up! The Surfing Bats took a little more time and help from Ollie. One of our 9 year old participants said, “It was fun to make up the team name and tricky at the same time!” There was a little chill in the air this morning, but it didn’t stop the team games outside on the playground. All children took part in a selection of tagging games including Everybody’s It and Zombie Tag. One of our 7 year old participants said “It was fun playing Everybody’s it and Zombie Tag!”
After a quick snack and drink the teams went on to play some more team games; Bench Ball, Crab Handball and Uni-Hoc, which all the children took part in and enjoyed. Scarlett, age 8 said “Crab Handball is a very hard game to play but I had a good time and enjoyed it!”
After an enjoyable lunch and playing Just Dance, we all had a free play outside. Some of us played skittles while others played football or practiced scoring in the basketball hoops. We then had a fun game of basketball, to make it fair for the younger ones we changed the rules ever so slightly. James, age 7 said “It was very fun but competitive!”
To finish the afternoon session, we set up gymnastics and the ropes in the hall. We had the opportunity to balance, create routines, climb, swing and jump up off different stations. Peter, age 7 said “I like it and it is very hard work!” Overall the winning team for the day was the Surfing Bats! Well Done team!
Clare and Ollie had a great day at Netheravon All Saints Primary yesterday and both hope the children did too! The awards for the day went to: Peter for showing great leadership and Jacob was awarded contribution of the day. Well done to all involved today, we look forward to an equally busy day 2.
